Black Sails Tattoo bought Level 5 Tattoo and Piercing and changed the name. We remodeled, brought in new staff, and completely re-branded the studio. Level 5 Tattoo was the oldest running studio in this town. It hit its peak in the early 2000’s and thrived. When the artists that were there left to open Sacred Rites Tattoo, the studio fell on hardships and was sold to a new owner. Fast forward 6 years later, and Level 5 Tattoo went up for sale again. Casper from Sacred Rites Tattoo, heard about this and decided he was going to save the shop. He made the purchase and brought in Shaun to manage the studio. Shaun managed the studio for almost 8 years and then catastrophe struck. 

September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian devastated Charlotte County and surrounding areas. The shop was left in ruins. It would be over a year before the building was back up to code. After putting so many years into the business and building the name, Shaun decided to put all of his savings, time and energy into rebuilding from absolute scratch. After a lot of hard work and money the studio was able to open it’s doors again in March of 2024. We have been going strong since and look forward to providing quality work for many, many years to come!
