From something old, comes something new.
We have now been in business since the beginning of February. Black Sails Tattoo bought Level 5 Tattoo and Piercing and changed the name. We remodeled, brought in new staff, and completely re-branded the studio. Level 5 Tattoo was the oldest running studio in this town. It hit its peak in the early 2000’s and thrived. When the artists that were there left to open Sacred Rites Tattoo, the studio fell on hardships and was sold to a new owner. Fast forward 6 years later, and Level 5 Tattoo went up for sale again. Casper and Leina, from Sacred Rites Tattoo, heard about this and decided they were going to save the shop. They made the purchase and brought in Shaun to manage the studio. Since then we have begun to grow.
The decision to bring Shaun in as a piercer/manager/owner was the perfect move on our parts. He runs the studio as we would and has been piercing for more than a decade. He has also played a big roll in finding the new artists we have working for us and is responsible for some of the awesome specials we have run over the last few months.
November is the month to be Thankful, and we truly are thankful for the way this shop has progressed so far this year. We are wanting to do something to help those in need this month and have decided to match you dollar for ink. If you buy non-perishable foods (canned and boxed) and bring the receipt in with the food, we will give you that amount, in store credit, to go towards your tattoo. We will be giving the food to local churches and shelters the week of Thanksgiving.
This month also brings us a new tattoo artist, Ray. You can see some of his work on our shop’s facebook page (his portfolio will be on here soon). With that being said, here are some tattoos by some of our talented staff.
